The new Valerna EP, Snakes/Ladders comes out tomorrow (Fri., Dec. 18th) in 320kbps on beatport! Thankfully they were nice enough to release both tracks in 190kbps for us to download before it releases, which you can grab below. Los Angeles electro duo, Valerna, is the pet project of hip-hop producers Brett Sorrentino and RJ Buchanan of Sixunder7 productions. Valerna received significant attention from the blogosphere in 2008 when they released their debut 10 song album for free via the internet. They’ve since done remixes for acts like OH SNAP!! & Jen Lasher [a], Pance Party, Wax & EOM, and Das Racist. In April of 2009 the duo signed to the Montreal/Los Angeles based electro label, Tasty Bytes Records
This duo from Los Angeles is all that you would expect from the best of a new generation of producers ready to tear dancefloors all around the world. Catchy but far from pop, clean production but raw sounds, Valerna takes the best from emerging currents of modern dance music and rolls it all into tight tracks perfectly calibrated for blaring sound systems during peak time frenzy.
