Extraordinary things always happen when unexpected. During the 18 months the Grammy-nominated French duo Justice spent touring following the release of their monumental debut LP “†”, “extraordinary” didn’t necessarily mean “amazing”, or “great”, (though it sometimes did) but “surreal”, “weird”, “horrendous”, “fascinating”, or “paranormal”, etc. To cut a long story short, it means that without anyone to film you twenty-four/seven, no one will believe or get the essence of every moment you’d like to tell them about.
So as Justice were about to tour the USA for the second time, multi-award winning directors and intimate friends of the band, Romain Gavras (“Stress” director) and So-Me (“D.A.N.C.E.”, “DVNO”) taped every second of that 3 week tour that looks like it lasted 3 years. This documentary ain’t about how cool Justice’s live show is (the bonus CD is here for that), but is all about the extraordinary things that can happen when a bunch of frogs gets dropped in dreamy America.
This live CD + DVD release will include recordings of Justice’s signature headbanging live sets along with show footage and various hijinks captured as the band toured the US in March 2008. Screenings of the film will be held in each city around the DJ sets late October.
So I just ran across this.I haven’t listened to it yet but I have a good feeling about it. Let me now what you think when you hear it and I will let you guys know if i like it too (If this post is gone in a day or two, then i didn’t like it). The blog I found it off of had a very good description so I’m just gonna use his/hers.
Metronomy - Nights Out
Ah yes, finally Metronomy’s sophomore album. Definitely more commercial than their last album, “Nights Out” gives you pulsating music you can dance to. The “Nights Intro” is broken down, I love it, but it’s just an intro. “The End Of You Too” is awesome, it’s a homage to their previous work. It’s a sort of cut and paste track, but it works. “Radio Ladio” was the first single to be taken off the album. The keyboards are amazing in the track, the rap at the end is cute, very catchy. “My Heart Rate Rapid” was the second single to be taken from the album. It’s bouncy and off the wall kind of track, really nice. “Heartbreaker” is amazing, the beats are sick. “On The Motorway” and “Side 2″ are like an intermission, you can tell the albums sound will change into something more. “Holiday” is my favorite, it’s probably because it’s heavily disco influenced, but on crack of course. “A Thing For Me” starts off really cute, then the beat kicks in and you know it’s a wrap from there on. “Back On The Motorway” starts off really broken, but morphs to this pulsating track. “On Dancefloors” takes the album down a notch, it’s just one of those tracks you can’t help but feel through your body. The “Nights Outro” ends the album just as it began, strung out and broken, perfectly ending the fast paced and upbeat album. I can’t get enough of “Holiday”. “Nights Out” hits stores September 8th, be sure to get it.
