Download everything below! and keep watching for an update for my favorite set from DJ Roots with Kaptain Harris from Lowpro Lounge, called “No Bammer Shit”. It will be up soon.
Curiosity, the will to innovate, and a great deal of research are the hallmarks of the work by Paulo Braga, also known as DJ Roots. In 2001, Roots began a DJ course at the Pragatecno – an electronic music organization founded in 1998 located in northeastern Brazil. There, he developed a DJing style that highlights jazzy, funky, and soulful sounds while still integrating the scope of drum & bass.
Since then, Roots has been a staff member at Pragatecno as well as an integral force in the development of Bahias junglist movement – establishing monthly events such as DB and the D-Breaks. Currently, DJ Roots is at the helm of BOOH!, the first organization solely dedicated to building and promoting the Bahia drum and bass scene.
At the dawn of 2005, he was invited by internationally acclaimed Brazilian musician Fernanda Porto to produce remixes for her performance at the Carnival de Salvador, an event promoting her most recent album, Giramundo. Also in 2005, Roots partnered with Rafael Ponde to produce a drum and bass remix of Sorriso de Flor. Marky and XRS chose this track to be part of the inaugural release on their label, Innerground Records.
This is the reggae I grew up on. Straight outta Columbus at 1357 N. High Street. My friends dad is one of the DJs and me and my other buddies Zak and Aaron would always be going to reggae shows so we got to know DJ Pete Fonk (left in above pic). Roots High Power is always at all of the reggae shows in Columbus spinning the vibes in between sets and after. They mix a lot of their own mixtapes and they’re sick. A lot of big reggae names come to Columbus to record for them. I am posting them for download because you can only get them at Roots High Power on High Street in Columbus. So if you live in Columbus, love reggae, and haven’t heard of Roots High Power then you need to go there, buy their mixtapes, and check the place out. It’s a really cool store and the people there are very nice. If you don’t live in Columbus then download this now. The Time Will Tell mixtape is by far my favorite Roots mixtape. I’m getting the tracklist and CD cover for it up on here soon but download it now anyways! It’s a conscious mix and I listened to it a TON last year and still throw it on a lot.You should download them all though :). Oh and there will be like 5 or 6 more mixtapes with all album art and track listings coming very soon.

Breakbot is a French producer associated with the current wave of french electro artists (Justice, Ed Banger, Institubes etc…) . Don’t know too much about him but his shit is really good. With just the right amount of noise/distortion and funked out bass lines he seems to have this sound perfected. I also like the fact that his music is interesting from start to finish with many different parts, progressions and melodies weaving in and out, not just relying on one four bar loop for the entire song.
DP: Oh, oh wait, uh hang on. Did you see, like uhhh uh, a little… naked dude out on the street anywhere? Frylock: Uh yeah, I think he’s dead. (the dead frat alien twitches) DP: (in a sullen tone) Are you serious? … Well, when he wakes up, make him drink.
Shake: Yo, DP, this G.D.I. wants to know what I’m doing. What should I tell him? That we’re gonna kick his ass?
Hilarious Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode with frat aliens.
MORE ROOTS HIGH POWER MIXTAPES COMING VERY SOON! with all artwork and track lists included.
Just found this today. It’s runs just like FireFox but integrates a music player that plays just like iTunes and a TON on add-ons that help you with you music blogging. Really cool stuff. I have been getting into blogging a lot recently as you can tell. and this is a great tool to use for music bloggers. I’ve just started messing around with it today and already I have found a lot of things that it is helping me a lot with. Give it a try and see if you like it.
Play music. Play the Web.
Songbird is a desktop media player mashed-up with the Web. Songbird is committed to playing the music you want, from the sites you want, on the devices you want, challenging the conventions of discovery, purchase, consumption and organization of music on the Internet.
Songbird is a player and a platform. Like Firefox, Songbird is an open source, Open Web project built on the Mozilla platform. Songbird provides a public playground for Web media mash-ups by providing developers with both desktop and Web APIs, developer resources and fostering Open Web media standards, to wit, an Open Media Web.
Songbird is a complete desktop media player or “jukebox” with a uniquely open approach to Internet digital media network services.
Songbird is developed by Pioneers of the Inevitable, a small, chirpy team of digital media innovators whose previous incubations include the Winamp 5 and Y! Music Engine media players and Muse.Net, a location-independent digital media network service acquired by Yahoo!.
Q. What are digital media network services?
Digital media network services, simplistically put, are Web sites that do stuff with digital media. Examples of digital media network services include eMusic’s á la carte MP3 store, Last.fm’s social networking service, Odeo’s podcast service or La Blogothèque, a personal MP3blog.
Digital media network services are varied and produced by a diversity of service providers, just like Web sites. New services and service type opportunties are fomenting as Internet users utilize more digital media in novel ways.
These guys are sick wit it. Group of rappers from Swedan, bangin beats, sick rhymes, all around good shit that I listen to a lot. Prove it? In 2006 at The annual Swedish Deejay Awards was held at Berns in Stockholm, The Troop snatched three out of six awards for their latest album “Fort Europa”. Hope you all enjoy!

They were four members but CosM.I.C has left the group. His appearance on “Fort Europa” (Album) was his last. Read about it on http://www.looptrooprockers.com/. Dj Mc Marshall (later to be known as EMBEE) and his classmate Marcie Cee shared a newfound love of hip-hop music in the early 90s. The rest of the jerks in the school didn’t get it, and the two were both excited about having something that was their own and eager to let some more people in on the secret. One day they would laugh about who in school looked least likely to be able to rap. They soon decided it was definitely that longhaired, loud-mouthed, tight jeans wearing dude in the 8th grade: Mc Mårten (Promoe).
Some months later Dj Mc Marshall and Mc Mårten recorded their first song, and many more were to come. They would team up with two other young guys from their hometown of Västerås, Sweden and eventually take on the name Looptroop that now reigns supreme over nearly every continent. Mellow T (Cosmic) was one of the two guys that joined forces with them. He used to be in another Västerås crew called The Hot Dogs, and before that it was Groovy Soundsystem.
Now, 14 years after Embee and Promoe took their first stumbling steps into the world of music, and seven years after Looptroop founded their record company David vs. Goliath it’s time for the third Looptroop album called Fort Europa to be released to the public. It’s been almost 40 releases from the DvsG’s, most recently Promoe’s Long Distance Runner and White Man’s Burden, Embee’s Grammy award winning Tellings From Solitaria, and Looptroop’s Fort Europa. They’ve continued their collaboration with punk label Burning Heart Records that will license the new album just as they did Modern Day City Symphony (2000) and The Struggle Continues (2002). Looptroop, Embee, and Promoe works closely with the sound and mixing masters at Soundism since a few years.
9/2-2007, CosM.I.C announced that he is no longer a member of the Looptroop crew.
He announced that he was leaving because of all the travelling and not being together with his family as much as he wanted to. He also said that there’s no ongoing beef between the members and that he loves his crew like they were his own brothers.
Hope you like the new look. Please post a comment on this post if you like it or don’t like it or if you see any mess ups in the theme. I am having trouble finding/deciding on a them that I want to use. But please let me know what you guys think.
Also the download page is temporarily empty. I will update it soon but am having some problems with it so once i get it straight and looking good all of the downloads will be there.
